[O]utstanding-[B]eautiful-[A]uhhmazing-[M]anly-[A]wesome : State of the Union 2010

My main man, our president, Barack Obama, definitely showed me thru his state of the union address last week, that even though changes cant be made in one year, he is definitely on the right track to becoming a great president.  My confidence in him has never failed, and I think that he brings something different to the table--any other president has not. Other than the fact I think Michelle Obama is gorgeous, almost like Jackie Onassis-Kennedy.  They are a dynamic-duo (The Obama's), and I think our country doesnt see how much they BOTH are doing for this country.  The main thing is...CHANGE CANNOT COME IN ONE YEAR. It is literally impossible to make all the changes in an 8-year plan in one year, so people should get off of his ass & let him do his freakkin' job.

Here are my notes while viewing the wonderful PRESIDENT OBAMA (:
-He uses flashbacks of bad times to describe the overcoming them.
-He puts down ex-President Bush. (Thank God.)
-Statistical Facts, that seem REALLY legit. I'm happy for them.
-Pathos, "I know the anxieties..."
-VERY charismatic
-Down to earth guy!
-JOKES AROUND... (:
-Very good for a college student, because he is realistic.
-GREAT, GREAT, GREAT CONCLUSION.

yay for obama.

with peace & love (:

  1. KAR KAR-- I love this blog post!! Obama is my main man too! I've always got his back, and I agree with EVERYTHING that you said. He's done a great job so far; we can't expect results overnight. Everyone needs to get off his ass, like you said, because he's doing a hell of a lot better than George W. Bush ever did!! :)

  2. KARIN! I couldn't agree more with this post. It is much like mine, in that Obama basically is the MAN when it comes to speaking and the rhetorical devices he used (such as repitition, stats, pathos, etc...) were very effective. I also feel very passionate as well that he really is doing a great job--change, no matter how good a president you are--will never happen in a year! After Bush, it's even near impossible to fix it in ten! Overall, fab post :)

  3. Oh my goodness. FINALLY someone who has faith in our president! I'm so sick of hearing about people who think he's "worse than Bush" because he hasn't done anything incredibly significant in his first year as president. Give him a break people! He was left with more than ANY president should have to handle--two wars, an awful economy, unemployment rates skyrocketing--and people get mad because he's not done in a year! My goodness, even Obama said that this wouldn't all be fixed right away, that it takes time to fix everything that's wrong with our country--so give the guy a break! I really liked your post, if you couldn't tell. :)

  4. What irks me most is that, yes; people will not get of his back. They rant, they whine, they flip off the TV screen, but do they ever get up and DO something about the things that bother them? No. They hate on Obama. He's America's scapegoat now.

So thank you, thank you, and thank you for being smart enough to realize that America cannot be rebuilt overnight from the crap it has been reduced to. Obama can't do this alone either--even with his fantabulous rhetoric!

  5. Obama: [O]nly says what he can so the Democrats think he's "amazing". [B]elittle's the work of former president George Bush even though he isn't doing squat. [A]lways gives promises he will NEVER deliver. [M]akes one too many negative comments on this country. [A]gitates the living crap out of me.

Note: I'm not a Republican. I just think Democrats are giving him too much credit when he doesn't keep his promises--yet they think George Bush was an idiot because he choked on a pretzl.

Oh, and a few comments to why you thought his speech was good:

    1. He mentions plenty of negative flashbacks, but never overcomes them. What has he improved?

    2. Putting down the previous president doesn't do anything but raise issues. Mocking someone isn't going to solve the country's problems.

    3. Statistical "facts" can "seem" legit (as you put it) but are they? Where are your (rather his) facts?

    4. It's a good thing he knows the issues, but what is he going to do? Oh, yah...nothing...

    5. Charisma is nice, but it doesn't lead a country.

    6. Down to earth? Making promises you can't/won't keep isn't down to earth...sorry.

    7. Jokes around! Great, go become a comedian! Don't run for president if you think humor will get you through the next few years.

    8. I don't see anything that supports your claims for why it is great for a college student.

    9. Great conclusion? I would say more like predictable and flowery.

Kyla: Saying "Obama can't do it all because Bush was so bad" is a weak statement. If he's as great as you say he is then he should overcome the current problems with ease. Are you saying when the time comes when Obama is out of office and none of Bush's problems are solved you'll just blame it on Bush again? I would blame it on the man who didn't improve the problems like he said he would.

Taylor: Obama did not have more pressue than any other president. You may just think that because you weren't there during the presidency of the previous leaders. Was Obama arround during slavery? world war? the first terrorist attack? No, only a bad economy that he keeps blaming Bush for.

Stefanie: Just for the record, every current president is always labeled as "America's scapegoat" Obama is nothing special. In fact, he uses Bush as HIS scapegoat so people stop "hating" on him.

    Enough said.

  7. I can agree with both sides of this arguement. Yes, Bush was a terrible president and he definitely didn't do anything for us. But also, Obama hasn't done anything spectacular as of yet. Therefore, I can't say yet whether or not I think he's a good president because I don't really have anything to judge it off of. Not to mention, do any of us really have the knowledge required to truly judge or state whether or not a president is a good one? I don't really think we do.
